My Story

Meet Betty, the delightful calico cat with a personality as colorful as her coat! At 5.5 years old, Betty embodies the classic tri-color female traits, often exhibiting the infamous "torti-tude" with other felines, preferring to be the sole queen of her domain. However, she's anything but a diva with her humans, showcasing a calm and low-maintenance demeanor that's perfect for any household. Though she enjoys her solitude, Betty thrives on engaging conversations and cozy spooning sessions with her favorite humans. She's a master of relaxation but transforms into a wild playmate when presented with a cat teaser. Last year, Betty faced a diabetes diagnosis with courage, but thanks to diet modifications and weight loss, she's now in remission, requiring only occasional check-ups with the vet. Betty's social skills extend beyond the feline world; she's been known to charm respectful children and even coexist peacefully with dogs. As a young adult, she's perfectly content spending her days at home, eagerly awaiting the return of her beloved humans to shower them with affection and companionship. When adopting a kitten, consider a second kitten to avoid "single kitten syndrome". Two kittens keep each other busy, get into less trouble, are better socialized and can keep each other company while you're gone. When introduced properly, most cats and kittens adjust well to children and other pets in the home. It's critical that cats have a safe place to retreat to if interactions become overwhelming and that all early interactions are well supervised. If you already have a cat, please talk to us about how to introduce them to each other successfully. All our cats and kittens are litter box trained, spayed or neutered, up-to-date on shots and worming and have been treated for fleas. They also are microchipped with a complimentary registration fee. The fee for all our cats and kittens is $175 plus tax, with a $50 discount for adopting a second cat or kitten. If you're interested in adopting, please complete an application at www.catspawjamas.org. If you're "just browsing", consider making a donation to our rescue via our website to help us continue to save cats and kittens at risk of death or homelessness.
