Beefcake is the bad boy stereotype in a cat. He appeared one day at a colony, a scratched and scarred stranger with a chipped tooth, a survivor. He was trapped for TNR but we sensed this lil man wasn’t feral, just a little spicy. He’s adjusted so well, beefy baby is the sweetest cat, he’s my little shadow, and just melts when shown affection. He was scared and a bit of a biter at first but has really softened up. Now that he’s dropped his bad boy demeanor, he’s loving his sleep and will lounge out anywhere cushy. Of course he’s quite the athlete, loves to play, chase, hunt, SUPER food motivated. This lil guy has had the sweetest glow up, would do well with someone who will let Beefcake settle in on his own time. He will let you know when he’s not happy with a warning hiss but really lets me get away with a lot. He lets me pick him up like a lil baby and he just purrs and snuggles, though he will let you know when he’s gotten overstimulated/shy. He would do well with a playful cat! He’s very athletic, so a cat that would be comfortable with all this beef would be ideal.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.
When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
