My Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens** Bear is the largest of Birdie’s four kittens and the sibling of Monkey, Mouse and Mouffette. He is a classic, black beauty with pointy ears and bright eyes. Bear has a truly snuggly nature and is the quickest to purr when picked up. While Bear enjoys sleeping with his brothers and sister, he can also be found sleeping alone or on top of a human! Like his brothers and sister, Bear thinks all toys are wonderful! He especially enjoys climbing towers, chasing wand toys and springs and chewing on catnip-filled toys. Bear will bring instant joy to his forever family. Bear is especially close with his sister, Mouffette, so please bring them home together so they can continue to grow up alongside each other! Would you like to make Bear and Mouffette a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form. Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping. Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator. All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
