Arrival story: Hi. My name is Bear and I came from an overcrowded pound where I was going to be put to sleep because there were too many cats and not enough space for me to stay any longer.

Approximate age & weight: Bear is 1 yr old and 7lbs. He needs to put some more weight on now, as he is a bit thin for his size. He should probably be 13-15 pounds.

Personality: Bear is a casual, laid back type of cat. He LOVES the company of the other cats around, and has already made good friends with his foster parent's cat. :) If you like Maine Coon cats for their sweet and gentle nature, Bear is your boy!

UPDATE 6/8/07 We took Bear back to the vet because when he walked he had an uneven gait, and the X-rays of his leg showed that he does not have a fracture, but that his knee cap (patella) is out of alignment. It is unknown whether he was born with this, or if it's from an injury he sustained. Either way, it is not causing him pain, as he still jumps up and down from the couch and bed and follows his foster mom around the house, looking for love and extra attention. Anyone looking to adopt Bear should know that although at this time, he does not need any special care or attention, he may need further medical attention as he ages.

Bear has now been neutered, vaccinated, and tested for FelV/FIV. He is also on flea prevention. His required adoption donation is $120. Adopter will receive a copy of his X-rays and all vet records.

Contact: Contact Bear's foster home in Livonia for more information, [email protected] or cell#734-502-5362.
