Barney (FCID# 01/31/2024 - 15)

Barney is a sweet elder (maybe 15 years old) gentleman looking for a quiet home to spend his retirement years. Barney is a relaxed guy that would like to spend most of his time looking out the window. When you do give him pets, you may be rewarded with the most adorable whistley purr you have ever heard (check out video). Barney is a truly magical ancient that might just be a blessing for your home. As an older cat, Barney does have some quirks to manage. He isn't the best at grooming himself and has some weepy eyes, so he could use your help with brushing sessions and face wipes. After spending time outside he has some litter box confusion. His foster mom has found that multiple low uncovered boxes and pee pads can keep away unwanted messes. He has had multiple tests and nothing is medically wrong with him. It is possible that once he is in a home that doesn't have years of foster cats smells, his problems with this will go away. He also has some mild arthritis but so far it doesn't keep him from getting up on the bed or over to the window sill. He does well with other cats but would prefer someone chill or older since he only likes short play sessions between naps. We don't know how he does with dogs or kids.
