My Story

Update July 6: He's looking a little wide-eyed, but it's a bit of his usual look. Barney has been with us since March and our hope is that it will be love at first sight for somebody. Barney is the last of a bunch of kitties we took in when their owner passed away. He is smart and keeps an eye on us. Barney likes to come out and will rub all over you and he loves to play with toys, but he's not a big fan of being picked up. He likes to come to you. He has seen the dogs at the shelter and is curious. He would likely warm up to a safe, friendly dog in a home given time and space. Barney does not seem to mind other cats and would do well with a friendly and social cat as he seems to draw confidence when with another cat. Barney arrived at the shelter on Mar 7, 2024 as a surrender. He is a long haired white, black and brown male with a black tail. He is estimated at 3 years old. Sweet guy, a bit on the shy side and likes to approach people when he feels safe. Barney lived with a lot of other cats and is not looking for trouble with other cats. He has made big gains and though still a bit shy is showing himself to be quite social and loving when he trusts.
