Barney

Sweet eyed Barney is as loving as he is cute. Sadly he was left behind when his owners moved and decided to leave him outside, but lucky for us this gives him an opportunity to find his true home. This silly guy loves to find a lap to nap on, cuddle up at bedtime and explore his new digs. He loves to look out the window and really enjoys a cat tower that allows him access to bird watching. Barney is very confident and doesn't have any fear when it comes to meeting new friends. He will happily greet a new face and walk right up for a pet. It's remarkable to see how quickly he acclimates to a new space and new friends. Barney is FIV+, which means he has a more sensitive immune system. Now, with a low stress indoor lifestyle, he has a long life ahead of him. FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live just as long as any other kitty. When he was rescued, Barney's mouth and gums were infected from years of negligence. Kitten Rescue stepped up to get him the care he needed and got him a full mouth extraction to have all of his teeth removed. He is now much more comfortable, but still recovering and healing. Hopefully now, with more time and minor care in his future home, he can be kept comfortable and truly start to thrive.
