Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I am looking for a home with a patient person. What my friends at ACC say about me: Azul tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced. A volunteer writes: Azul is like a brand new puppy still growing into their paws. He spends his days compensating for having a bit of a sadder start by bursting right to the front of his cubby. He's one of our more dedicated greeters though he isn't always sure which of his greatest hits to roll out. Scrolling through his roster of greeting techniques when he sees me open his condo door, I see him ask himself if he should nuzzle, headbutt, raise his paws in the air or try to grab his neighbors door? Since Azul's working really hard, he has a tendency to try them all and, more often than not, at the same time. Hanging out with Azul is a time! That said, he's made a lot of progress and is really growing into his paws and into himself. Now, as mentioned, Azul does have one of the sadder stories. Found in a building hallway by a good Samaritan, Azul was trying to get back into an apartment. When the good Samaritan knocked on the door, they were told that Azul was no longer wanted.
