My Story

Meet Antonio! Antonio's journey to Priceless Pets began in March of 2023 when his first foster mom found him abandoned and wandering uncared for in her neighborhood. She took him in and treated him very well. In September of 2023 Priceless Pets agreed to help Antonio in his search for a permanent home of his own. Antonio's current foster mom says: "I've had the pleasure of fostering Antonio since September. When he first came to me, he was very shy, but he became more confident and social every day. He absolutely loves being scratched under his chin and cheeks as well as being brushed. I've found the best way to get him to come out of his shell is through lots of affection. With time, he has settled in so well and has become a very easy cat who loves routine. He will meander around the house with us in the morning as we get ready, then he likes to snooze under the bed during the day and cuddle with us on the couch in the evening. He gets spurts of playfulness where he will chase and bat his plush toys around the house. Antonio would do best in a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can relax with his people." Antonio is FIV positive but needs no special care at this time. He likely caught the FIV virus living outside and being bit by an infected cat. Only cats can get FIV and they can only get it from a blood drawing bite. Cats who have it can expect to live a normal life span. However FIV causes immune deficiency which means that, if Antonio becomes sick, he must be cared for immediately rather than wait to see if he'll get over it. Attention must also be paid to his dental care. It means that he cannot go outside as he may be exposed to cats who are sick or get into a fight and transmit the virus to another cat. He can live with other cats in his household so long as they are FIV+ as well. Antonio's adopter needs to take an active interest in his health and well being. For more information on FIV+ go to: humanesociety.org/news/FIV-positive- This sweet boy is so deserving of a forever home, could that be with you? Antonio is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and is microchipped which will be registered to his new family. Antonio is available by appointment at the City of Industry Location, if you would like to meet Antonio, please complete your application online at pricelesspetrescue.org and a volunteer will contact you to set up a meet and greet! Please note all adoptions are completed on a first come first serve basis.
