Antonio

Antonio came to us from a shelter where he was having difficulties adjusting to shelter life. He's a bit shy and slow to warm but once comfortable, he enjoys being pet. He's looking for a home alongside his buddy, Lynx who loves attention and is gentle and sweet. Both Antonio and Lynx are very sweet kitties who just want to lay around and enjoy the day. They would be the ideal companions for someone who likes to read, watch movies and/or works from home. Antonio and Lynx are feline leukemia positive yet they are living happy and healthy lives. There are a lot of myths and fears around this retrovirus so please read below for a bit of information on what it means to be FeLV positive and contact us if you're interested in meeting this beloved, bonded pair. Our non-profit organization is more than happy to help cover future medical expenses if/when they arise as we are excited to find them a loving home where they can continue to be happy and together. Feline leukemia is not a cancer but rather a retrovirus that is only contagious to other cats. FeLV-positive cats may, in fact, show no obvious symptoms of illness during the course of their lives. They're simply more susceptible to getting sick as their immune systems are compromised. FeLV is a really relatively fragile virus, dying within minutes outside of the host, and killed by even the lightest of cleaning products. It is primarily spread through bodily fluids and for this reason, Lynx and Antonio are housed separately where they have their own set of grooming brushes, bowls, beds, and toys. Antonio is 4 and he was diagnosed when he was a kitten and Lynx is 14 and he was diagnosed in 2018. They are a gentle, bonded pair that enjoy people's company.
