Anka

Anka was born on the streets of Turkey. Life was hard there, and each day Anka struggled to find food and defend himself against tougher male cats. Yet, Anka persevered in hopes of one day finding a happier life. Little did he know he would find that life, but his journey there would be a long and difficult one. Sadly, at age two Anka was struck by a car, leaving his back legs paralyzed. Things looked really bad for Anka. There are few resources for paralyzed cats in most places around the world, but in Turkey, there are next to none. Fortunately, someone was looking out for Anka. He was rescued and received the necessary care to recover and heal. But, Anka would never walk on his back legs again. He needed another miracle, a safe haven where special cats like him could live and thrive, and he got it! Some amazing cat lovers helped Anka find his way from Istanbul to Tabby's Place, where he was welcomed with open arms. Anka now resides in our Lobby where he happily greets visitors. Anka adores people, so he's thrilled to be one of the first cats people see when they come through the door. Anka also loves to play! He's always up for chasing a wand toy or stalking a fur mouse. Being paralyzed doesn't hold him back. He has incredibly strong front legs which he uses to scoot around. He's incredibly fast on just two legs. Now, Anka is living a life he could hardly even dream of before. All he needs now is a family of his own!
