My Story
I would like you to meet Alvin, a special needs, black and brown lover-boy born approximately 01-07-2008. Alvin is the true definition of a rescue cat. When he arrived he was almost on death's door. He was dehydrated, severely underweight, and suffering from a terrible upper respiratory infection. In other words, Alvin was a mess! Although most would have had him euthanized, there was something very special about Alvin. It didn’t matter how sick he was, he always had his purring motor running for you and would do anything for the attention of a kind human. After he started gaining weight and his infection was improving from the antibiotics, the vets diagnosed him with an active herpes virus. Although every cat has this virus, many never show symptoms through-out their lives - Alvin's flares up from time to time. It will make him sneeze a lot, which can be unpleasant, and does require medication. I know what you're thinking, giving a cat medicine? No way! Let me tell you, Alvin takes his medications very well, better than some humans! It's not known if this will continue to flare up throughout Alvin's life or not, but if he has good food, lots of loving, and is kept healthy, his outlook is very positive. Alvin's illness does not slow him down, and he will do anything for love, attention, and food! His personality mirrors Alvin from “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” and he will keep you laughing! Alvin is looking for that very special home that is willing to take the time and, on occasion, money when he becomes ill. Once you meet him, you will know he's much worth that effort and will give you unconditional love and affection. Alvin has been vet checked, neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. Call 507-451-4512 to meet Alvin in his foster home. His adoption fee is $125. (CR)
