My Story

When our DPA foster scooped up a sweet momma cat with three babies from the shelter, she had no idea just how tiny one of those babies was. At ten days old, this itty bitty tortie was about the size of a newborn! Momma kitty was given the name Laurel Oak, and her two strong boys were called Post Oak and Red Oak. But this little seed was not yet a big strong oak tree, just a lil Acorn. Acorn and her brothers ate and grew, and foster mom celebrated every gram the little seed gained. She is still petite, but don't underestimate her! Acorn has more than enough spice to make up for her small stature, and she won't let her brothers best her in a game of tag. When the grumpy old resident cat hisses at Acorn, Acorn stands her ground and hisses right back! She may only have one eye, but Acorn has never known anything different. She's learned to navigate her world in her own way and will boldly climb, and jump right off of, the tallest cat trees. She loves batting and chasing toy mice and springs around the house and is an expert at hide and seek. She still fits under all the furniture, after all! Acorn has lots of fun zooming around the house and can usually be found napping with one of her brothers after they wear themselves out. Acorn has graduated from the Lap Kitten Training Academy with Honors in Biscuit Making! When she's done with her Very Important Kitten Business for the day, she loves to snuggle up with her brother Post Oak, her momma Laurel, or her foster mom for a nap. She's getting more confident with human friends every day, and now comes running to greet her foster mom with purrs and a tail wag! If you're looking for a lot of personality in a little cat, Acorn might be just the seed you need. Better yet, adopt her with her brother Post Oak for extra fun and cuddly cuteness!
