9-1-09 Poor Peg - one more bad time. Adopted 2 months ago by a wonderful woman, she has been in heaven - she's had a person all to herself, a home with no other cats, a sunny window to nap in, a warm bed with a human to sleep with; and now it is over. Her new person had a sudden illness and loss of income, and cannot keep her, so Peg is back in her foster home with all those other CATS! Her 2-month mom says this about Peg:
"Peg is a loving, attentive cat who takes great care of her owner. She'll happily escort you around your home. She may hide under the couch in new situations, but give her a few days, food/water/clean litter box nearby and she'll emerge with lots of love. She's very well trained. For the first few days I had her, she lived under my couch but always came out to use her litter box before sneaking back to her hiding place. She loves to be held and licks your nose to kiss you hello when you pick her up. Peg is a talker, so she enjoys discussing the daily news with you. While you're out, she likes to relax to music, so leaving on the radio soothes her in your absence. Catnip makes her roll around on the carpet in absolute bliss, so if you sprinkle a bit in front of her, she's in heaven. She's very well-behaved, even if you give her a bath. Peg likes to nap in the late afternoon and emerges in the evening, calling out to find out where you are, listening for you to call her name in response, so she can follow your voice and give you a kiss on the nose."
*********************************************************
Peg - a cat rescued when,as a kitten, she was brought to a vet clinic with an umbilical cord wrapped around her leg. The leg was dead and had to be amputated - but Peg never knew it was missing. She developed chronic nail bed infections and finally, a medical declaw was necessary - and yet again, Peg came through it without missing a beat. This beautiful 13 year old girl has been through so much in her life, but the loss of her leg and the loss of her toes was NOTHING compared to the loss of her human. Poor Peg lived for and loved her dad - and when her dad married, Peg was devastated. She was so jealous - would try to attack that new woman. Eventually, the man's daughter took Peg home to live with her. Sadly, there are many cats that new home, and Peg does not approve of all this competition. She will hiss and spit, and is grouchy with those other creatures. There are dogs, too, but they are fine as long as they are not too pushy. All she wants is a human to take her in as an only cat and spoil her rotten. She absolutely MUST be a lap cat, and MUST be allowed to sleep in bed with her human. In return, she will love you totally and unconditionally - she will cuddle very close to your face, give you sneaky kisses, and follow it with a hug.
Peg is negative for both FIV and FeLV; she is microchipped and current on her vaccinations. Of course she is spayed as well. Interested in being loved for the rest of Peg's life? Contact Nancy at
