UPDATE! Sammy's litterbox issues have been resolved!!! The shelter found a box that he likes better, and his stressed-out roommate was adopted. The roommate must have stressed Sammy out, because once it was gone, viola! No more litterbox accidents. Super Sammy is a funny fellow.....At his shelter, he thinks he owns the place & helps himself to whatever he wants. He walks by the other cat's cages, sticks his paw in their cage & casually steals their food. His favorite activity is to lie in the middle of the office floor and become a tripping hazard. Everyone must walk around him.....he doesn't feel the need to move out of the way. Sammy has bladder stones, which are controlled by Royal Canin SO food. He must stay on that food to keep the stones under control. He is litter box trained but there are times he will pee outside his litter box. This may be due to shelter stress as he has had extensive medical follow up as well as acupuncture. Sammy needs a quiet home so that stress doesn't make his bladder stones flare up. His previous home had dogs, & he could live with another, but it needs to be a pretty quiet, mellow dog. He's fine with other cats as long as they're not all over him, but would be fine without them too. Older, respectful kids would be fine. As you can see from the video, he loves to bat around cat toys, and also loves cat wands. Sammy is about 11-13 years old. Old Dogs New Digs is helping network Sammy for PAWS Brave Hearts.
