Zelda is a very strong, intense, brave little pigeon racing survivor. She suffered a break in her leg which was exacerbated by the constriction of the racing band. She was also badly scalped (either by fellow pigeons in the loft or wild birds) and the skin of the top of her head was barely hanging on & looked like a wig when it came off. By the time she was found stray & taken to the shelter, her broken leg had died & it fell off (self-amputated) while she had her intake exam. She's healing up but will always be challenged with the loss of her foot & half a leg. Legs are important to pigeons.
