************************PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING INQUIRY*********************************** We appreciate your interest, but as a local Long Island organization, we cannot orchestrate long distance or out-of-NY State adoptions. We can only handle placements in the Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Staten Island, NYC, lower Westchester and lower Rockland County areas. ***************************************************************************************************************** If you're interested in this bird(s), please read our policies and procedures and complete an application at www.liparrots.org/Adopt If you complete an adoption application there is a fee that needs to be paid. Your application will not be processed unless the fee is paid directly after the submission of your application. **************************************************************************************************************** Parrot's Name Yakup Species African Grey Parrot Age of Parrot Roughly 22 years Sex Female Birthday / Hatchday Unknown Are the Wings Clipped? Partially flighted Bird Color Grey Does your bird talk? She can say "bye baby," "hey," and some words in Turkish What do you currently feed your bird to eat? Seeds, Nutriberries, Fresh Vegetables Is your bird hand tame? No Does your bird have any feather issues? Plucks When was the bird last Vet checked? Unknown Select which of the following your bird is good with. (You can select more then 1) Dogs Tell us if your bird has any behavior issues? Bird plucks torso, wing and tail feathers are still present. Why are you needing to rehome your bird? We have had a family member pass recently and it was her bird. The bird was very much bonded to her and having a tough time adjusting. Unfortunately we cannot take the bird in as we are in the process of moving, and we have 2 cats. We worry that both the bird and the cats will have trouble acclimating to each other and do not want to cause undue stress. Provide us with any additional information that may help a candidate show interest in your bird. I was unsure about the wing clipping but the bird does not try to fly much.
