Wanted: Single bird family with lots of room and plenty of love to share! Hello! My name is Tiki Macaw. I am a gorgeous Blue and Gold Macaw with plenty of sass and personality! Like all Macaws, I expect nothing but the finest lap of luxury (not really, I just like being called a Diva)! I enjoy wood toys that I can chew up. I will absolutely destroy paper towel or toilet paper tubes. Just put them on top of my cage between the bars and wait for the show! I need plenty of toys for stimulation. I also enjoy spending time with my foster parents in their lanai area most warm nights, hanging from my favorite rope above my roller stand. I am a quiet lady for the most part, however, I will let you know when I’m not getting attention. I am OK when nobody is home to be in my cage, but if you’re home, I want to be out and I will require attention. I also have some rituals like “being tucked in” at night that my foster parents will gladly help you learn when you adopt me. This is very important for any potential adopters to know: I believe I am best for a single bird family. I have experience with other birds, dogs, and cats, but I really want to be the main attraction. I need room to explore without competition. I will look in the cabinets if given the opportunity, so you must be diligent to make sure there is nothing to hurt me. Now, even more important, let’s talk about my food. I am on a pellet diet. I only like Zupreem large pellets for my main course. I enjoy the occasional hard nuts like hazelnuts and almonds as a treat. Every evening, I get a small portion of vegetables and or fruit. I can be picky, but for the most part, I’m simple to feed. I have a limited vocabulary, but I like to bark and even growl at passersby. I will be your “watch bird.” I will step up if I’m ready but please don’t push me. I like to fire a warning shot by pushing your hand away if I’m not interested, but you only get one warning! Please consider me for your forever bird. I am an awesome Macaw and even my foster parents will agree! I deserve to be loved and taken care of, as I will love and take care of you.
