My Story

A warm wind breathes across the Horn of Africa and the Williams Lovegrass, or teff, ripples in time. Teff is an ancient cereal grain best noted for it adaptability and growth in many environments. Pigeons may similarly be compared, having been the first birds to be domesticated due to their high level of intelligence. Racing pigeons are bred for stamina strength, speed, and homing instinct. "Athletes of the air," until misfortune on the form of predators, starvation, or injuries bring them to ground zero. With head held high and proud, Teff belongs to the family of racing survivors. A checky criss cross pattern of feathers adorn Teff's back, highlighted by bright white wing tips and a monochromatic mixture of tail plumage. A tiny turquoise chain of feathers drape Teff's neckline while the intense eyes reveal the many stories Teff might have to tell us. Life has taken Teff many unexpected places but love will finally bring Teff home. Give Teff the sweetest ending to a long journey... “many miles traveled and now a family to call my own.”
