My Story

Cockatiels are amazing companions, and they don’t always get the appreciation they deserve. Susie is here to change that! If you couldn’t guess by her (or his? we don’t know for sure) incredible feather crest, cockatiels are a part of the cockatoo family. Like their larger cousins, cockatiels are typically very social birds, and enjoy being involved in the everyday life of their family. They can be noisy, particularly if they feel they are being ignored, but their maximum volume is much quieter than other cockatoos! Most cockatiels have a very sweet song, intermixed with adorable little mutterings; males are more likely to learn to speak, and some will mimic whistles or songs. We also don’t know Susie’s exact age, but she seems interested in people and willing to socialize with a little time and training. She could also be perfectly happy as part of a larger, hands-off flock in an aviary. We adopt to families living within 90 minutes of the Omaha metro area. We never ship birds.
