Meet Simon! This handsome Double-Yellow-Headed (DYH) Amazon parrot is assumed male. We don't know Simon's age or much about his life before coming to PEARL. His foster family reports that Simon is a typical of many DYH - independent, strong willed, and full of personality. As with any parrot, positive reinforcement training will be the key to building a trusting relationship with this beautiful bird. Simon will need a cage that is appropriately sized for a large Amazon parrot with plenty of room to stretch his wings. A 40" wide and 30" deep cage is the minimun cage requirement though we are sure he'd happily reside in a 64" wide x 32" deep cage if that were an option. Simon will also require various perching options, a rotation of fun toys, parrot safe veggies and fruit, high quality pellets, treats and of course daily supervised out of cage time.
