My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hatch Date: 2022Rio is an approximately 2 y/o female Peach-Faced Love bird. She loves to be part of the family environment. She is not yet hand-tame, but her foster home is currently working with her. She loves attention from everyone. When she's out of her cage she is always exploring and flying around to new places, so she needs supervision. She's very vocal and loves to play with the other smaller foster birds in the house. Rio especially favors her swing when in her cage and will spend all day on it. She currently has a small spot on her chest where she was plucking before coming into rescue, but her feathers have been slowly growing back. She is currently eating her seed mix throughout the day and also being offered fruits and vegetables, So far she hasn't been interested in them. As with most birds, she loves her millet treat. Rio is being fostered in Huntington Valley, PA, and will require at least two in-person visits before adoption. We will not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Rio, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org. Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.
