Peewee

Hi! My name is Peewee. I am approximately 4 years old. I was surrendered in the care of FPR in hopes that they would find me a loving forever home where I would receive lots of attention. When I was surrendered, my previous owners said I squawked all the time and would peck when I was approached. Since I have been at my foster mom's house, I have not squawked at all. My foster mom says it is because I am now in a larger cage with LOTS of toys. My foster mom wants everyone reading this to remember that all birds need stimulation and I love my toys! She also says that I peck because I was never trained and was cage bound. My foster mom is confident that with patience and training, I will learn to step up because of my love for humans. I crave being as close to humans as possible! When my foster mom sits by my cage, I will sit as close to her as possible or press my little face against the cage bar for kisses. I will come out of my cage as soon as the door is opened, and my foster mom is working on my step up by using my FAVORITE treat- millet! Although I still have a fear of hands, I will jump on my foster mom's shoulder or head to be close to her! Another thing that I am loving since coming into FPR's care are mist showers. I was very dusty when I arrived at my foster home, but in a few short days I was loving my showers! I am on a pellet diet of Zupreem Natural, but my foster mom is adding some Harrison's and RoudyBush. I am a beautiful bird who is looking for a forever home with lots of love, time, and patience.
