My Story

Pancho is a quaker parrot, AKA monk parakeet. He is 8 years old, presumed male, one owner, prefers women. He likes to bop to music and shred his toys. Comes with cage. Update from foster home: Pancho is a sweet boy. He is very friendly. He likes to splash around in warm water running in the kitchen sink. His previous owner reported that he does not like men, but we have not found that to be the case in our foster home. He loves to be out of his cage, and will fly to your shoulder, though he seems to prefer landing on the top of the head and then climbing down to your shoulder. He likes to hunt for food, so if he is free in your home, be aware that he will try to get to his treats and any other food items on your counters. He does not like to go back into his cage, but will do so for treats. He has been eating Zupreem pellets, steel cut oats, and vegetables, with the occasional berry added. He did well with toweling at the vet, and seems to be able to keep his own nails and beak trim without assistance. He is 8 and has never laid an egg, so we think he's male. We have a dna-sexing kit at home and will be attempting that soon. Vet check normal, negative for chlamydia, herpes, PBFD and polyoma. Adoption fee $700 + $30 membership fee. Must be within driving distance of Salt Lake City.
