Usually fire fighters do the saving, but Mort, a juvenile king pigeon, decided to save herself by waltzing right into a local fire house. There she hung around for several days, coming and going as she pleased, and even took up residence in the station's kitchen. The firefighters were absolutely delighted to have such a smart bird do all the hard work for them! All our Palomacy volunteer had to do when she got to the station was just pick Mort right up into her arms. Mort made her own rescue one of the easiest, yet immensely rewarding save we've had so far!
