Misha was rescued fortuitously at the exact right moment when volunteer Mali was checking on a flock of pigeons at a local baseball stadium and noticed a pigeon choking on a peanut! When she scooped him up and removed the peanut so he could breathe again, she discovered the reason he was choking - Misha was suffering from a serious jaw infection, and the associated wound and swelling was so extensive that it was almost completely blocking his throat and airway. Misha’s emergency was discovered on Christmas Day, and he became our Christmas miracle! Misha needed several months of medication, wound care, and veterinary appointments, but he is now fully healed at last to everyone’s delight, especially Misha! Through every step of his treatment, Misha was exceptionally patient and grateful for help. Now that Misha can eat normally again, we have discovered he is quite the foodie and quite the food motivated bird! ;-). Misha loves his treats, and will follow you all around asking for his favorite snacks! Dear, sweet, highly huggable Misha says he is ready to follow you (and some treats!) right into his loving foster or forever home!
