Hailing from the racing world, in comes Merriweather! Poor Merriweather was feeling under the weather as he became severely emaciated during his final race. Luckily for him, he had gotten himself arrested! Now you may be wondering, “GLPR, how is that bird lucky for getting arrested??” Well I’ll tell you! The Skokie Police Department saw this poor pigeon, and swiftly detained him in one of their cells until we could come to the rescue! Our little jailbird couldn’t have caught more of a break than the one that these kind officers had given him! Since coming to out rescue, Merriweather has perked right up and gets a nice tummy full of food all throughout the day - this handsome man will never know starvation again. Now we know that this bird technically has a criminal record, but it would be absolutely criminal to not give him a wonderful, loving home of his own! ;-)
