My Story

Junior is an approximately 30-year old DNA-sexed male Umbrella Cockatoo. He is thoroughly vet checked including bloodwork. He is tame and handleable, although he has a special way of coming out of his cage. He loves to dance and whisper to his favorite person. PLEASE NOTE: Adoption applications for any Cockatoos will NOT be considered unless the applicant has previous large COCKATOO experience. Because large birds are so intelligent and have specific needs to live a happy life, we require their adopters to have personal experience living with/caring for large birds. If applying, please be prepared to detail personal experience. Cockatoos are difficult birds to live with. We ask that, before you fill out an Adoption Application, you to go www.mytoos.com and find out what it is like to live with a cockatoo. We do require you visit the site before we do any meet and greets. The best way to gain experience is to volunteer! We are always accepting new volunteer applications! Junior's adoption fee is $600. If you are interested in adoption, please go to www.centerforanimalrehab.org, read our Adoption Policies, and fill out the Adoption Application. Once your application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet with you/your family. We are located in Waukesha, WI and do not ship. All adopters must live within a 100 mile radius. We do not adopt birds to households that have the opposite gender birds.
