My Story

Joey is a wild caught male umbrella cockatoo who hatched in 1985. He was brought to The Gabriel Foundation in 2002 where we have been working on his trust in his immediate environment. Joey now steps up nicely onto a hand or towel. He will need a home that can keep up with his enrichment needs. Joey is a master at destroying wood blocks, and can go through a 2x4 in less then a week. Like most cockatoos he can be extremely vocal at times, so his new home needs to be one that is not noise sensitive. Joey is bonded to a male goffins cockatoo named Little Girl, and the two need to be adopted together. This pair does share a cage.
