Francois & Zanna (Married Couple)

Francois and Zanna might not have 9 lives like a cat, but they sure have at least 3! This courageous couple managed to survive dangerous situations not just once but twice before being rescued. Francois and Zanna both came from the same flock of racing pigeons, where miraculously they managed to survive and stay together despite the many dangers of racing and “training flights.” When the owner of the flock passed away suddenly, Francois, Zanna, and all their flock mates were scheduled to be sold to slaughter as part of settling the estate. Thanks to intervention from a compassionate family member, advocacy by artist and author Rosemary Mosco, and coaching and quick action from our volunteer team (especially volunteer Jacque who checked on the flock around the clock until they were safe!), the entire flock was saved from slaughter. We are so relieved Francois and Zanna, and their friends will always be together and safe from now on, and rest assured they are even more grateful. Francois and Zanna now look ahead to a bright future in their newfound life with a loving foster or forever home!
