Courageous is a beautiful white King pigeon with a grey ring in her eyes. She is on the small side for a King, but she is mighty with a very sweet disposition. Courageous was one of several birds who were rescued after being raised for squab, bought from a butcher, and released by a well-meaning person who didn't know these domestic pigeons have no way to fend for themselves. They don't know how or where to find food or water -- or even that they can fly. One of Courageous's cohort was killed by a predator and Palomacy rescued four others. Courageous and her husbird, Penny, are part of Palomacy's foster flock at Ploughshares Nursery in Alameda.
