My Story

The Resilient "Blue Jean Baby:" This lovely lady goes by the fitting name of Blue Jean, courtesy of her beautiful blue-grey feathered coat. But her moniker also pays homage to the classic song refrain "blue jean baby" - because just like the lyrics suggest, Blue Jean is one brave, resilient pigeon. Blue Jean was rescued after suffering a fractured wing that sadly left her unable to take flight. She also let us know she’s a female pigeon by laying an egg the day she was rescued! We can only imagine how stressful it must have been enduring an injury and trying to find help while needing to lay an egg. She was so grateful to rest safely in the gentle care of medical rehab volunteer Niki after being rescued! This brave blue jean baby hasn't let her injury keep her down, and she has adapted brilliantly to life as a pampered indoor pet and cherished companion. Blue Jean maintains an upbeat and spunky personality. While she’s quite a tiny pigeon, she’s also known for being especially fluffy - a brave little puff ball! This blue jean baby also happens to be a natural beauty. Her sleek blue-grey plumage has an iridescent sheen that's sure to catch your eye. Like the star she is, she keeps her feathers meticulously preened and primped. What Blue Jean lacks in flying ability, she makes up for in resilience and charisma. If you're looking for a soulful feathered friend who epitomizes the phrase "blue jean baby" through her one-of-a-kind spirit, Blue Jean will be the perfect addition to your flock!
