Bird

Bird is a male, 5 year-old pineapple green cheek conure. He is your typical happy-go-lucky, full of energy, green cheek conure. He loves flying around, landing on your head or shoulder for a chat before flying off to his next roost. He is a bit of a talker, "pretty-bird", "hello", and some wolf whistles once in a while. He likes shredding toys, climbing ladders, playing on his gym, dancing to music, and ringing bells. Bird has a great appetite. He enjoys a mixture of grains in a mash, chopped up fruits, chopped up vegetables, crumbled nutraberries and pellets. For a special treat walnut pieces are his favourite. Bird is very clean - if nothing is offered he will avail himself of his water bowl, but he would much prefer splashing around under the tap. He will step up onto a wooden perch with a chopstick being his favourite. Sometime earlier in life he had some kind of beak trauma which caused a split. His beak is being attended to by an avian veterinarian and we hope for a long term fix, but it's possible he may need remediation upon occasion. It does not seem to affect his eating, other than maybe chopping up his food a little finer and or break up the Nutra-berries to a more manageable sizes.
