Bella & Yardley (married couple)

Bella and Yardley: Lovestruck at Woodstock. Though neither had ever met before, they had been pigeon pen pals ever since they learned to write. The miles between Bella and Yardley never discouraged their fast and growing friendship over the years. Both excitedly packed their pigeon backpacks with all the necessary items for the first day of university. Pens and pencils and paper and books and tiny tasty treats of seed bars fitted neatly into place. Bella and Yardley had chosen to attend the University of California Berkeley together and pursue their passion of Pigeonology. Bella pulled on her floppy Janis Joplin hat over her head and Yardley checked himself out in his new psychedelic paisley patterned shirt. With plenty of beads and bangles strung around their necks Bella and Yardley set out to meet each other for the first time at the People's Park. The anticipation was overwhelming and each held up a sign with their name smartly printed on it. After all there were hundreds of other birds mellowing out to music in the park also. If " love at first sight," was a possibility on that warm sultry night in August of 1969 then the vibes at first meeting turned out to be just that. Peace and Love floated through the air and into their hearts with the exhilaration of the changing times and a blossoming romance between them. The word was whispered through the flock in the park that Woodstock Music Festival was the place to “be in” that weekend. The sweet chords of “Love the One You're With," belong to them. Here in the present day, Bella and Yardley are a real life pigeon couple! Although they never attended Woodstock, it is fun to imagine they did. Yardley is the softest brown boy and his love match Bella is a checkerboard of pigeon grays. Nothing would please this devoted pair more than to find the comfort and kindness of a home of their own where true Peace and Love exist.
