My Story

Shania came to Longmeadow as part of a rescue in the Fall of 2022. She, along with other goats in her group, were suffering from neglect. They were malnourished, underweight, and had extremely overgrown hooves. Shortly after her arrival, Shanias rehabilitation began. She was put on a refeeding schedule to help her gain weight at a healthy pace and received (much needed) hoof care from our staff. Then, during a routine vet visit, we found that Shania was pregnant with twins! Although we were glad that Shania was in our care and gaining back her health, we knew that it was possible her babies would not make it due to her history of neglect. A few months later on a cold February morning, her twins were born healthy and happy! We were overjoyed. Her twins were named Brooks and Dunn, and they lived together with their mom as a cute little country music trio until the boys were old enough to be independent. Now, Shania and her twins have been weaned and she is finally ready for her forever home! She is a kind, calm goat and deserves a forever home where she can be spoiled and snuggled. She loves attention and wont ever pass up a goat treat. If it were up to her, shed choose a home with other goats where she can spend her time soaking up the sun on a bed of hay. Adoption Fee: $75
