My Story

Introducing Miss Piggy, a 2-year-old potbellied pig that came to us from a neighbor who could no longer care for her. Initially a big shy, Miss Piggy is gaining confidence and becoming friendlier every day. Currently living outdoors, she could be transitioned to indoor life by those who are so inclined. Pigs are known for their intelligence and social nature. They can be housetrained as well as trained to walk on leash, obey commands and do tricks. They enjoy the company, not only of other pigs, but humans, as well. While Miss Piggy may tip the scales at a mature weight of 150+ lbs, her size is more akin to that of a medium-sized dog. She is already as big as she is going to get height-wise. We’re looking for someone who can give Miss Piggy the time and attention she deserves, whether she remains an outdoor pig or a house pig. If you own or have owned a pig, you’re probably already aware of all the Facebook pig fan pages out there. If Miss Piggy becomes your first pig, you’ll find lots of companionship, good advice and friendship on those same pages. We aren’t asking an adoption fee for Miss Piggy – just a commitment to her wellbeing. If you would like to make her part of her life, please email us ([email protected]) or message us on Facebook: facebook.com/SavetheStraysAnimalRescue.
