Meet Helgen and Gimli!
These beautiful adult Boer goats are new residence here at Sanctuary One, so they are just getting accustomed to their new surrounds and humans again. Helgen (female, 7 years old) and Gimli (male, 6 years old) were found abandoned on a piece of property, rescuers believe they were alone for about 3 years.
After a intense rescue the 2 goats were taken to a horse rescue where they could be confined to a stall and receive veterinarian care. Gimli was castrated and Helgen was found to have very overgrown feet that causes her to place her front feet properly on the ground. Helgen is already moving around more freely but will need regular hoof trims to keep her feet in good condition.
Both goats are now friendly, love to be brushed and will eat treat out of your hand.
